Perillä Australiassa

Ryhmämme pitkä matka kohti Australiaa alkoi kokoontumisella Oulunsalon kentälle perjantaina keskipäivällä. Perillä Brisbanessa oltiin viimein sunnuntaina puolen päivän maissa eikä matkaan mahtunut kuin yksi myöhästyminen jatkolennolta ja sekin viimeinen lento. Välilasku Singaporessa antoi esimakua tulevasta kuumuudesta ja kosteudesta, siis tervetulleesta vaihtelusta Suomen talveen.
Huomenna jatkamme anivarhain Salomonin saarille, jossa meitä odottaa kuulemamme mukaan mielenkiintoinen kohde. Ei niinkään paratiisisaari vaan 3 vuotta sitten iskeneen tsunamin jäljiltä toipuva pieni saarivaltio.


Matka kauas on pitkä ja jetlag todella tuntuu. Aikaero Suomeen on 9 tuntia ja siihen kestää totutella muutama päivä. Ryhmällä kuitenkin tuntuu huumorintajua riittävän ja emme todellakaan ole hiljaisia suomalaisia.

Four nights and off we go...

The closer our trip is coming, the more preparation, packing and things to remember there seems to be :). We met together last Sunday and went through the preliminary programme, getting all excited about the journey and experiences ahead of us. We wish to thank our hosts already in advance for all you have done. Moreover we wish to thank all our sponsors and supporters who have helped us one way or another -thank you, kiitos!

All our team members could be described as "active" people: One is still finishing her second study thesis, one is completing her management degree and one wishes to get their new house built before the trip. But we are confident that we will make it to the plane on Friday despite all this :).
